Our Team
Penelope Allsobrook
With her multilingual background, Penelope Allsobrook has some understanding of the challenges involved when speaking and writing in another language, and she is happy to share her experience with you so as to stimulate and enhance your writing process.
She is there on Wednesdays between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Dr. Esther Odilia Breuer
is the head of the Writing Centre and teaches linguistics (at the English Seminar and as part of the Studium Integrale). She studied English, German and Slavonic Studies at the University of Cologne, and she completed her Ph.D. in Bonn. Before starting to work at the Writing Centre, she was lecturer at the Moscow and Barnaul Pedagogical Universities, and worked as a technical documentalist and project manager in publishing. Her research focuses on neurolinguistics and on writing in foreign languages (more).
Zehra Sisman
is a BA-student of German and English language and literature. In her free time, she likes to read international literature.
She will help you on Wednesdays between 9:30 to 16:30.
Anna Hakimzadeh
completed her BA in the Science in Biology and studies Archeology and Art History in a second study programme. She speaks German, English and Persian, and she is very much interested in creative work, literature and martial arts..
You will find her in our office Thursdays from 9:30 to 16:30.
Wiebke Hoppe
studies Psychology in the research-oriented master programme. Her favourite topics are social- and political psychology as well as gender studies. If not studying, she spends her time with good and "less good" books, music and four-legged friends.
She will help you Tuesdays between 9:30 and 16:30.
Anja Schneider
is currently pursuing a Master of Arts programme in Art History and History. She is especially interested in Italian baroque painting, English country house architecture, and the local mediaeval history of Cologne.
You will find her in our office Mondays from 9:30 to 16:30.
Sandra Tikale
will help you Fridays from 9:30 to 16:30.
